TR7 Ad

For two hours once a month on Fnoob Underground Radio, eight alternate universes converge into one to form a quadnaural meta-brain. A hyper experience for the ears unlike any other.

The universes are set to converge for a seventh time on TUESDAY, MAY 14TH, 20:00 - 22:00 (8PM-10PM) GMT. Many familiar realities are set to return, but new advances in rift technology have enabled us to enter new worlds:

ALAN DOUGANS will be joining us, under the alias FUTURESIGHT.  He is the brother of BRIAN DOUGANS - one half of the FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON! He's set to take you on a hyper-emotive trip that rivals the Electric Brain Storms.

We will also be joined by DF TRAM, who also hosts a show on Fnoob called AMBI-SONIC, and has toured and worked with MIXMASTER MORRIS

SUNRAY LANDS ON PLANET NEEDSY & HUTCHFEVER!
FNOOB.COM 20/07/2011 7-10pm.

This week, Needsy & Hutchfever are honoured to welcome special guest Jon Chambers, aka Sunray, who will be playing some of his songs and spinning a few of his favourite records.
In our humble opinion, we consider Jon to be one of the most amazing singer-songwriters we’ve ever encountered [and we don’t say that kind of thing lightly!]. The man’s a total music and culture freak, from the Velvet Underground to prime Detroit techno. The music he has been making under the Sunray banner since the early 90s is uniquely sensitive and powerful, dripping with psychedelic soul, 2007‘s Tomorrow album one of the great, but overlooked albums.
Here’s an edited bit from Kris’s upcoming autobiography to help explain; ‘…a group called Sunray, which was actually singer-songwriter-guitarist Jon Chambers with assorted collaborators including Spacemen 3‘s Sonic Boom. It looked promising with sleeve crediting names including the Stooges, Velvets, Sun Ra, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3 and the Byrds, but more than lived up to expectations as the music unfolded like an incandescent floral opiate, prompting me to belch lines like, “…Chambers forges supernova distillations of his obsessions and zoned out visions with a hallucinogenic panache that spikes the rest of the sound with results that can be transcendental or mind-blowing”.
‘It’s rare to encounter a record which realises your wildest musical dreams for you, such as Sonic Boom’s collaboration on Lou Reed’s ‘Ocean’ or the mesmerising 24 minute ‘Music For the Dreamachine‘, homaging the Lamonte Young loop-excursion principles which inspired John Cale.
After giving it the maximum five stars, I was anxious to meet this Jon Chambers. It turned out he lived in Aylesbury! This was truly weird - favourite album of the year and its creator lived ten minutes away! A meeting was swiftly arranged and friendship established. He’s recently released a new Sunray record called ‘Baby Honey’, which is as galaxy-mangling and celestial as ever.’
Also on Wednesday, Michelle will be spiking her playlist with suitable psychedelic additives, while Kris is planning a Ramones tribute and unveiling the mindblowing new Soma Recordings 20th anniversary set. We’re really looking forward to this one and hope you’ll join us.
